So, we came out victorious. It was a rough road - no easy game, really, and a few big mistakes, but all in all, a good weekend.
For CB personally, she did everything we asked of her: she stood out...and in a good way. She scored in every game (well, in the game we lost, she had the assist - her corner kick I think would have bent in on its' own, but was helped into the net by one of our players), and played tough. She created opportunities and let her skill and speed speak for themselves. Good for her!
It is so hard to be the parents, and also Coach and Manager, for your kids' competitive sports team. Everyone know the real reason we do it: for her. So does that cloud our judgment? Of course, how could it not?
But sometimes I find, more often than not, that we underplay her talents, to everyone knows that we don't favor her. And yet - we absolutely favor her. To find the balance between building her confidence...and turning her into a complete monster, that is a tough one!
